Sometimes while im playing games like GTA SA or MW2 my game will run fine for about 5 mins and then it will get like 1 FPS for a few seconds and go back to normal. its only recently started doing it, heres my specs
Proccesor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz
1534MB RAM
Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3
180 GB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (up to date drivers)
(its an old computer)

I'm pointing at that shitty cpu. Check your processers that are running before and after and during. It would also help lowering your settings incl. res

usually only MSN and AVG anti virus are running in the backround and i play my games at mid settings, ill try lowering them and report back

ok i just tried GTA SA on lowest settings i could get and 800-600 res and it STILL does it
maybe something in my comp is dying?
Negative. Go and roll back your vga drivers and install the manufactors drivers. No avail. Check for overheating with hwmonitor (google it) and check before and during. Over 80 c? Check for dust.
