Definitely not.
You could also get Blood Dragon which is a smaller, shorter, funnier and most of the time cheaper game.
I've been waiting forever to get the first/second Farcry and now I have no money. Fuck.
Started playing FC1, holy shit the graphics. 2004 you say? Incredible. Even today there are AAA games that don't look as good as Far Cry did 10 years ago.
And of course, it's terribly fun. Only 2 hours into the game and I already recommend it dearly.
It's sad that Far Cry 2 turned out so mediocre, the present mechanics are great and it's a lot of fun. The whole game just lacks a focus on narrative and suffers heavily from repetition, also the thing with the factions is pure bullshit because both always open fire the instant they see you.
