Note- Not sure if this is where I should post this
Okay guys I can't for the life of me fine an "Asus Radeon HD 5870 1GB Graphics Card" in the UK I've tried everywhere and they all seem to be sold out. Can anyone help me find somewhere that isn't sold out, is around the 300-330 mark it also needs to be here before Christmas?
I tried ebay but the guy who is selling it said that he is only selling the card, so I don't know if that means he isn't giving me the cables that come with it to hook it up. So I'm not sure if I should buy that. So if anyone can lend a helping hand that'd be incredibly helpful.
well you don't need anything if both card and your monitor have same outputs (DVI most likely) and you can download drivers manually.
Don't I need the wires for inside the case to hook up the card to the motherboard?

Power cables? They are the only cables that a GPU needs inside the case as far as I'm aware.
Well yeah power cables. I mean the guy stresses that it's only the card. This is what he said at the start:-

The power cables you need are from your power supply.

Unless your psu doesn't have 2 pci-e connectors, then you need to pick up one to two molex to pci-e connectors

What power supply do you have?
Umm all I know is that it's a silverstone
Take a picture of the side of your power supply.
Okay, it'll take me like 5 mins though.

That's it there I just got the model number and googled it.
The only thing except a DVI-to-VGA converter and the GPU itself included in the package are two power adapters which you could need. But you can get them separately too.
Well I mean with my current card there are two cables coming from it. I'll post a pic ASAP

1 x 24/20-pin motherboard connector (550mm)
1 x 8/4-pin EPS/ATX12V connector (550mm)
1 x Dual 6-pin PCI-E connector (550mm)
2 x triple SATA connector (500mm +150mm + 150mm)
2 x triple 4-pin IDE & single floppy power connectors
(500mm + 150mm + 150mm + 150mm)
Those are your powersupply cables.
Correct me if I'm wrong people, but I believe you need two 6-pin connectors, which that power supply doesn't have.
Again, I'm not 100% about this, so if someone could confirm or correct me that'd be great.

and the post above yours
So will the cables I have just now suffice?
should be fine
and the post above yours
Aight, thanks.
Hm, I just checked out the PSU on the manufacturer site, and it said that it only supports up to 5850, should I get a new PSU?

Ugh, this is killing my bank account.

it should be fine, hell double 5870s only uses 550-600W
Well again, much love to you guys, and much love to my new section of Facepunch. You guys are the most helpful on this forum. <3's all round.

:downs: You aren't fitting a HD5870 in there, the card is going to be blocked by the drive cage.

Why not you just mod the hard drive cages.
What GPU do you have now?
An 8800 GTX and the picture I showed was really close up, I already checked for sizes, I'm fine there.
