FYI: -Just know I am a ungrateful person -My contract STAYED THE SAME throughout each time I changed my phone -Never signed up for a data plan, and don't want to Okay, about 2 years ago I got a regular contract on my phone with, unlimited texting, 500 minutes a month, and NO internet. My phone broke after 1 year so I got the iPhone 3G from craigslist NOT Apple or AT&T. 5 months later I wasn't satisfied, so I got the iPhone 3GS from craigslist NOT Apple or AT&T. Another 5 months later, I was unsatisfied, so I got the iPhone 4 from craigslist NOT Apple or AT&T. I have had my iPhone 4 for about 2 months and after 1 year of iPhones, I get a text message from AT&T saying:
AT&T Free Msg: Did you know a data plan is required for your iPhone? For whatever reason, our records indicate your iPhone did not have the correct data plan. We have added the appropriate data plan. Call 611 or go to att.com/dataplans for info.
Here is my questions. 1. Is AT&T allowed to do this? I have had iPhones for about 1 year with no problem and now they want to add a data plan that I DO NOT WANT 2. Why would they do this if Apple sells iPhones unlocked and with no contract? P.S. My parents do not want to pay for a data plan. No flaming/trolling, or "Android is better" comments, I just need help and don't care
So, AT&T fucked you in the ass.....they're pretty well known for that.
So, AT&T fucked you in the ass.....they're pretty well known for that.
I just want to know if this is even allowed, cuz i never bought the iphone from them and didn't plan on changing my plan
it probably has something to do with your SIM card
it probably has something to do with your SIM card
I cut my regular SIM to make it a MICRO MINI SIM, myself
Maybe you fucked up the proccess or something.
I just want to know if this is even allowed, cuz i never bought the iphone from them and didn't plan on changing my plan
I think it is. They provide the service, so they can force you to buy certain services based on your phone. It doesn't matter where you got the phone.
Switch carriers. AT&T is the worst cellphone/internet company on Earth. Also, just don't pay it? What can they do, cancel it? You didn't want it anyways.
You can't just not pay your bills.
Yeah, I think their policy is that all smartphones have a data fee no matter what.
AT&T has shit fuck ass terrible support, my family had problems with U-Verse regarding billing, and the Customer Support was rude as fuck, were switching to Comcast. I say go to Sprint, and if you have Uverse aswell, get Comcasts Xfinity. It's way better.
I'd just call and tell them you don't want a data plan, and you don't plan on having one, or else they can go fuck themselves and you'll switch to Verizon or something. That's how we kept our unlimited data. :v: They said we couldn't keep it, we've been with them as long as I can remember, told them we'd go to Verizon and they gave it. v:v:v
You can't just not pay your bills.
When I didn't pay the phone bill the phone company stopped calling me. Infact, everyone did.
Worst case scenario: My dad forces me to sell my iPhone 4 (i bought it myself) and just get a regular phone that doesn't need data plan.
