So I just jailbroke my iPhone 3G running iOS4, what should I do? What apps are the best for me to get off of Cydia?
There isn't much, but whatever you find that you like. Also makes phone super slow
Also makes phone super slow
Hush you. It doesn't, if you use common since. Obviously, if you get themes and stuff, you're going to get a slow down, but nothing huge. Anyway, look around the apple section, there's a thread with recommended cydia apps.

There are 2 small addons, LiveClock and WeatherIcon, they make the clock icon a real clock and the weather icon real weather. [editline]04:24AM[/editline] Also there is one app called Installous...
Linux Distro Downloading hint detected. And jailbreaking slaughters your battery.
No. Running loads of additional processes, something that jailbreaking allows you to do slaughters your battery.
And jailbreaking slaughters your battery.
Only if you install lots of shit.
I jailbroke my fresh install of OS4 on my 3G, and the battery ran out within half an hour of usage. I unjailbroke with a restore, and the battery was back to normal. :colbert:

Just because you don't install anything extra on top of the jailbreak doesn't mean there aren't a bunch of daemons running in the background, which I imagine is the biggest cause for the lower battery life you get when you jailbreak.

If anything, JBing can help preserve battery life by turning off pointless crap that isn't needed.
