Hello,
I just recently got my Fujitsu Lifebook T4215 back from repair, the HD was fried. I was previously running XP, although it came with Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit) on it. This is currently the OS running on it now, due to default OS from Fujitsu. I have Windows XP, as well as Windows 7. Should I upgrade to Windows 7 or go back to XP?
Here are the specs:
Processor: Intel Core 2 T5600 1.83 GHz
RAM: 1 GB
GFX Chipset: Mobile Intel 945 GM Express
HD: 90 GB
Also:
The computer will be used only for school. No gaming. It will be used at least 4 hours a day, and software wise it will mostly use Microsoft Office and Mozilla Firefox.

I'd go with XP, just because 1GB RAM + Vista = pain.
xp
You could try a Linux distro if you feel up for the challenge, but I've heard mixed reports about battery life on linux laptops, so might be best to flip a coin and go with XP or 7.

Seven :smug:
No really though. It would be up to more of a personal choice on which one you want. Their both still great OS's, And as shadow said.... 1g + vista = bad.
OP try out XP on that laptop, would perform much faster methinks

Aren't the RAM requirements for vista and seven exactly the same?
Windows 7
XP is better, I'm assuming Windows 7 may 'weigh' more hard drive space wise. If you're just going to do school stuff then stick with XP. You don't need anything fancy.

someone ran windows 7 on a pentium 3, I ran it on a Pentium 4 flawlessly with 768mb ram
That's nothing. I run it on a 900 mhz celeron mobile with 512 mb of RAM.
That's nothing, I ran it on a iBook G3, :D
