• What video game should I play?

PC titles only. I want to play something with an engaging story that will reward me for the time I spend on it. I realized today that I've never actually had a deep connection with a game because I usually end up getting frustrated and finding a guide, or spoiling the ending for myself. Preferably a first person shooter, or maybe an RTS as long as it doesn't have stale gameplay. (which I'm convinced that they all do. please prove me wrong.) I really hope I picked the right section for this, because the GGD rules forbid "What should I play" threads and there don't seem to be any specific criteria for fast threads. Tagged as Art because the game that inspired me to do this was Braid, and Art is exactly what that game is.
Company of Heroes? Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (+ Expansions)?
Company of Heroes? Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (+ Expansions)?
Noted. Thanks. I actually own Company of Heroes but it just seems so tedious sometimes, having to manage my troops and all.
Life. I hear it's pretty good!
Life. I hear it's pretty good!
I'm in excellent physical shape, I longboard, swim, play a few instruments, write music, and have more friends than I know what to do with. Me wanting to experience a rewarding narrative through a digital medium is absolutely no base for you to make the assumption that I don't have a life. Leave now, it's time to stop posting.
Play Vampires and disregard the bugs. Get the unofficial patches and don't play Malkavian on the first go. Also Bioshock is an obvious one.
Half-Life 2...? It would be useful if you specified what games you had though.
Minesweeper
Something you think is fun?
Half-Life 2...? It would be useful if you specified what games you had though.
I've played it.
The Witcher.

I might just have to play it again because I almost completely ignored the story on the first time through...
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the atmosphere. World in Conflict for a great RTS with lots of 'splosions.
Metro 2033. [editline]16th February 2011[/editline] It's like Stalker, but better.
Deus Ex
Worms: Armageddon. :eng101: Can't beat it for time spent increasing your ability at the game, and you'll most likely make some friends on there too.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl Open world FPS with a good story, you won't finish it in one day, lots of mods, etc
I realized today that I've never actually had a deep connection with a game
i'm telling jane
Gta iv.
Star Wars: Battlefront II

Play with your dick
Not nearly as immersive as WoW, though.

DoW1 has larger armies, while 2 is more focused on small groups, but you position how they aim from cover and all that good stuff. The best part is, almost everything is usable cover

Decided on supreme commander 2 because it was cheap and looks very fun. Reccetear, An Item shop's tale. It's addictive as fuck and has characters you actually care about.
Also, if you're into a more horror based experience, wait for Dead Island to come out. Looks like a bloody great time if you have a couple friends join you.
Reccetear, An Item shop's tale. It's addictive as fuck and has characters you actually care about.
I have that actually. The gameplay was really interesting but the experience kind of lost its novelty after about a day of hardcore playing. [editline]17th February 2011[/editline] God damn I'm really picky, aren't I?
Fallouts 1, 2, AND 3. The Left 4 Deads, I actually really enjoyed Singularity, but I kinda have a thing for time travel so I dunno. Resident Evil 4. Mirror's Edge is incredibly fun, but the story is kinda meh. Same with Borderlands, which I would also highly recommend. The Brothers in Arms series is also pretty good.
Metro 2033. [editline]16th February 2011[/editline] It's like Stalker, but better.
This, the game is awesome. Witch one is the original, because I always find it with expansions?
