The outcomes could be minor to significant, depending on what you mean by winning, as well as when. In the "worst-case" scenario, the United States is wiped off the map in a massive fireball, and our missiles never reach their target (namely Russia and/or other Communist states). The remainder of our land is then either invaded or reclaimed by various factions. Russia then becomes the largest power in the world, and all sorts of things can take place from there. What if we had to live alongside another form of life just as intelligent as we are?

Rise. a question i genuinely want to know an answer to; what if one of the asteroids didn't hit earth? (since it's said that the asteroids have shaped us who we are today.)

The most likely answer would be that we probably wouldn't be where we are now, if at all, since it was the destruction of the dinosaurs that gave the small mammals a chance to repopulate the earth, as well as the possibility that life on earth might have originated from bacteria on an asteroid that impacted the earth hundreds of millions of years ago.
