I've been waiting every day for several months now. About time. Come on Newegg!
Time to upgrade next month.
and it runs hotter than sandy bridge, thus overclocks more poorly
I'm still on a first gen i7 so I don't really feel the need to upgrade, but this is good news especially on the graphics front. I think I'll upgrade on the next tock.

If you have a good cooler you'd be fine.
Yes, I need to start saving.
still on that c2d swag
come on throw me some programs that will show me a reason to upgrade

Mosty Sandy mobos will be able to use Ivy chips after a BIOS update.
Okay you bitch.
Let's see how you perform.

ArmA is more than your regular war game man.

None of which are probable to even pose an ounce of a challenge to my C2Q. BF3 didn't...

Yeah. It's snail warfare.
Will Intel launches Pentium G (Dual-Core proc.) with Ivy Bridge chip?

I really don't see the hype about BF3 either, it was average.
I'm still on an i7 920. Don't see a reason to upgrade v:v:v
My Core i5 750 still performs just fine. High-end games are still GPU-limited so no reason to upgrade yet.
If you have a good cooler you'd be fine.
That's not the point. Ivy was supposed to use less power and thus run cooler, allowing higher overclocks. It may somewhat faster, but one of its main attractions is gone if the rumors are true.

NDA still has to be lifted, which is in a few hours (?), but it's already being sold around.
for the heat, apparently not a TDP of 77W but 95W :(

Wait longer if you can for the revision if it bothers you. but you'll be fine if you don't plan on OCing

Any idea on how long this will take, if at all?
