Ok well I just build my pc and I used my 320 GB HDD from an HP computer. So when I turn on my computer its turns on and it says windows cant start and to put in my windows install disk and restart. So I have some recovery disks. But I put them in and restart but nothing happens, its like it didn't detect the disk. I though it could be my DVD drive(which I also scrapped fro my HP computer) so I switched to to another drive. and still the same thing. I don't know what could be happening. Can anyone help?
Old Windows installations won't work in new computers, or drastic hardware changes (like switching motherboards, etc.)
Go into your BIOS, and set your CD/DVD drive to boot first, then insert your boot disc and then install Windows.
