Okay I have this really annoying problem overclocking my cpu, every time I try to overclock it in the bios it changes back to the default value after I save settings and restart. The thing is this problem appeared somewhere after I changed my graphics card, I remember it used to overclock just fine before that. I really want to squeeze some more power out of this old cpu.
Here are my specs:
Gigabyte P35-DS3
Intel Core 2 Duo E4500@2.20ghz
Asus ATI Radeon 4770 512mb
4GB DDR2 Ram
The psu is some sort of generic 400W psu.
Are you sure you're saving it? Once you change it and save to cmos it should be permanently set

Yeah I'm sure, I even tried multiple times saving it over and over again, with different frequencies.
gigabyte mobo's man, never successfully overclocked ANY of my CPU's with their boards.
I overclocked one of my CPUs with a gigabyte mobo. You could either try overclocking with software in windows or update your BIOS
