• Ethernet Controller- Driver Problem

Alright, basically i just had some issues with my Windows Vista and it lead it to become unusable, so i was forced to go back to my Windows XP for a while (I plan to get Windows 7 at a later date, just need to get some money together). Was working fine, just a bit slow due to a load of crap on the harddrive, but i soon cleared that out and it was running smooth. During unistalling programs, i'm guessing i must have uninstalled a driver for the Ethernet Controller accidently, seeing as the net was running fine until i uninstalled one program and it said "Found new hardware - Ethernet Controller". I did the normal thing and clicked to automatically install hardware, and it said that it could not find the drivers needed. I checked the hardware, and it has a ? in yellow next to it, so i'm pretty sure it just needs drivers. Anyways, i searched around on my brothers laptop (Of what i'm currently on now) and found a few drivers, yet none seemed to work. I've got an asus motherboard, but i've not got any idea on what to do, do i find drivers for my motherboard, then install them again? Any help would be appreciated, i'm unsure if this is the correct place, but i thought it would get most attention here. Oh yeah, if i need to download anything i can do that from here and then transfer it over on a USB, so getting programs won't be a problem.
I had the same problem I tried my Mobo driver disc no success I got a USB wireless N adapter for around £15 off play.com plug n play :D :D
What ASUS motherboard do you have? if you don't know download and install Speccy, that should tell you your motherboard model. Once you know your model go here and type in your model number in the search box, then select your OS and you'll get all the related downloads for your motherboard.
alright sweet, i ran the program and it turns out i don't have an asus rofl must have been my old computer

hmm, well i had a look and i didn't notice any actual model numbers but i noticed "Asus Commando" and a Republic of Gamers sticker, searched it up and it looks like this

it worked! thank you for all your help, really appreciate it.
