When I power on my computer I get past the motherboard splash screen then I get taken to the screen, I'm not sure what it's called, with all the pci devices listed and then nothing! The computer will not fire up windows. I tried to boot from my windows cd and I still get stuck on the same page. Resetting cmos and using last known working configuration or default did not work either. It's like I cant even do anything the damn thing won't boot! I had fucked around with an external HDD before this incident, tried to give it a drive letter and stuff and didn't really know what I was doing, maybe I messed up something there? Otherwise I don't know. I just powered up the computer the other day after it had been working just fine and it won't boot.
My specs as far as I know are:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard
8800 gt
2gigs of ram
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
windows 7 (64x)?
change the drive letters back - Do you have a USB Flash drive least A 1 GB one?

well i only gave a new drive letter to my external hd, i didn't modify anything else i think. And how would I even do that, trough the BIOS?
Be sure your're trying to boot to the right drives.
Your motherboard should say something about boot order.
If you really fucked up you could have formatted your drive.
