Hey.
First of all, this is not a "oh god I have a key-logger on my PC" thread.
Actually, I want to find a key-logger.
Situation is: I want to know what my family members do when I'm not on my PC, so I want to find a key-logger which is not considered a virus by my anti-virus. Is there any?
Thanks.
Make your own.
Which antivirus does your family use?
And google keylogger.
Make/use a keylogger, and then just set your anti-virus to allow it, and clear its history. Problem solved.
Well, how do I make a keylogger?
Also I use Avast.
Get a physical keylogger if you have the money
$75 from Thinkgeek (Pretty sure there are cheaper ones if you look around)

No one ever checks behind the computer.

Damn it I wanted a fast solution, I'll try the google option.
most keyloggers cost money
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pykeylogger/ if you have Python installed

just add the .exe to the exception list?
Hopefully all (or at least most)virus protection programs these days can detect key loggers. Otherwise, they aren't very good at doing their job.
I found one already, not even install needed and even is FTP ready. Amazing what you can find on the Internet.

And it's not detected.
Just make sure its not backdoored
That keylogger could be sending info to the person you got it from and sending you the info so you think its safe

Well where I downloaded it, there was a bunch of people commenting on it and they were positive.

Just use Netlimiter (or your AV) and set it not to allow any internet access to it and you're good to go

Oh well. R8 me l8.
You say "when I'm not on my PC", if it's yours why don't you just password your account and sign off/switch user whenever you're done.

Rated dumb. He means add the keylogger only to the exception list.
and allow a horde of viruses onto your computer
Appreciate the op didn't want to spend money, but with the following:

physical keylogger (usb)

backplane usb expansion card (i.e. the ones you get in your mobo box)

2 usb header to usb-a socket adapter cables

usb-a gender changer
And a splice between the end of one of the adapters and the usb backplane expansion card...
...You've got a completely undectable keylogger solution (assuming no-one opens the case).
