• What's the best PC controller?

I'm buying a USB controller for my brother for his upcoming birthday, and he plays a lot of emulators. I'm trying to find the best "bang for my buck" controller for his PC. I've found a few possible contenders, but nothing that really pops out... these are the ones I'm thinking about. Cyborg Rumble Pad V.5 I already have the Rumble Pad V.3, and that has worked out pretty well so far (other than finding compatible drivers and software). This version would also be useful, because it doubles as an XBOX controller. You can pop out the left analog stick & D-pad and switch it around 180 degrees for personal preference. Price= $34.95 Thrustmaster Wireless Controller This one probably looks the best, and has long handles, which would be nice. Another plus is that it's wireless, but that increases chance of compatibility issues and button lag. Price= $39.99 Logitech F310 Gamepad The Logitech F310 Gamepad is the cheapest on this list, and it has pretty good reviews based on the Bestbuy website. The only downsides that I can see right now are that it doesn't look the best and I don't think it's very customizeable. Price= $24.99 I'm also looking for personal preference, so speak up if you have one that isn't on this small list and is pretty good. Price isn't too big of a deal for me as long as it's within reason... Thanks in advance!
Mouse and keyboard.
Keyboards aren't the best for console emulators. Thanks though.
I have a dualshock 3 controller and IMO it's much better than any 360 controller I've ever used. Plus, you can charge it with any mini-usb cable.
That sounds pretty good, do you have a link?
Dualshock 3 is just a regular PS3 controller, I use one on my PC as well. You need a program called MotionJoy to use one on a PC though.
Will it work with regular SIXAXIS controllers?
It should, I've used both a Sixaxis and a Dualshock 3 with it, both worked.
Yeah, but the Sixaxis controller doesn't have vibration and it's been discontinued since the Dualshock 3 was released in 2008. Plus the dualshock 3 controller has a sixaxis sensor too, but no pc games make use of it unless you set it up yourself.

I'm more looking for one that is specifically for the PC.
Definitely the Thrustmaster. :smug:

I bought one of these the other day [sp]with birthday money too[/sp] Might need some work to get it working with Emulators and "unsupported" games though.
I'd get the Logitech F310 Gamepad, as it's both an Xinput and a DirectInput gamepad.
thrustmaster has 2 giant dildos and it's ferrari-style painted, what other controlled can top this?
Dualshock 3 is just a regular PS3 controller, I use one on my PC as well. You need a program called MotionJoy to use one on a PC though.
Or xpadder
most of the time you can just use a wired 360 remote.
I bought a wired 360 remote, USB connected it to the PC, worked instantly.

Or you can just go buy a 20 dollar one that will work out of the box and probably lasts longer.
360 controller for windows is the best
Wireless 360 controller. I use it myself. If you have old games that don't detect the controller use Xpadder.
I'd either go with a 360 or a PS3 controller. Seriously.
Don't get the Thrustmaster Wireless Controller, when your hand sweat it would be all slippery and shit
360 controller. It's native to both PC and Xbox.
Ps3 controller cause it's awesome, I find the xbox buttons to stiff plus the left analogue stick is in the wrong place
That is pure bliss for emulators.
Wired 360 controller is where it's at.
I like the PS3 controller more but yeah like everyone else said just go for the 360 controller, it's much more convenient. (Motionjoy doesn't work properly with the PS3 controller sometimes.)
