I can't begin to count the number of things wrong with this decision.
I'm cool with the rest of the choices, but for gods sake not RE6.
I'm surprised Megaman even got mentioned.
Funny how they included DMC4 instead of DmC.
It's also funny in a different way how they included MM10 instead of 9 or RE6 instead of a root canal.
Calling this the essentials collection is a bit of a stretch.
But hey, for people who don't have either DMC 4, DR2, SF4, or MM10, that's good news for you guys.
probably all eight of you. :v:
i liked re6, i think it's a good game to include so people can actually try it and see what it's like
"wahh re6 is terrible because review sites told me it was and forming my own opinion by playing it is hard"
re6 was pretty great IMO. a bit inconsistent, but largely enjoyable. everyone just decided to start hating on it because apparently resident evil was at some point a horror franchise?
Is RE6 at least good as a shooter? What bothered me about RE5 was that it lost the horror and became GoW but not as fun

Why did you have to make me remember that game
I had just about forgotten about that game

It wasn't a good game and it certainly wasn't a good shooter, tank controls made it hard to do anything in a firefight, and getting shot resulted in your character staggering and/or falling to the ground. You'd really be doing yourself a favor going to buy revelations instead of considering 6.

why would I waste my money and time with something professional video game reviewers (who are notoriously easy to buy the favor of) told me was bad many times over

Holy fuck, buy revelations, it is the best Resident Evil game to come out in years

It was a shitty third person shooter. Go buy Revelations, it's fantastic compared to the trainwreck of stories and gameplay clashing that was RE6.

RE6 didn't even have tank controls, what are you talking about
Though I will admit its controls are extremely cumbersome at first. They're definitely not standard Resident Evil, but they're not really Gears of War either. It takes some practice to get used to them but when you do, they're fantastic. You can roll out of staggers, you know, and dodge and duck through most attacks. Which sounds ridiculous, and it is, but it also makes you feel like Neo or something.
I really enjoyed playing re6. It was fun, but it's not worth full price.
Get off your:
"ohhh it ruined the story multiple campaigns was stoooopid" (duh, but they are all playable and not as boring as you would think)
"oooh not scary at all" (this stopped at like re3, get the fuck over it)
"oohhh controls are stupid/console port/japanese westernization" (are you serious???)
Its relatively fun, playable, and worth anything under 30usd.

chris campaign was so fucking horrible that I never finished it and it deterred me from playing the rest of the game
and leon's campaign was a boring cakewalk
I thought the demo was fun. Not survival horror, but fun.
Really? Just Super Street Fighter? Not arcade edition?
no it was a bad game because the mechanics were shittily implimented, the story was fucking terrible (even for re standards, because it took itself too seriously), the puzzles were bioshock infinite players tier, they removed the perfectly fine item system from 4/5, and the campaigns were too long and boring for what they were trying to go for
i think alot of this is opinions and that other people can appreciate the game despite what a horrid rap you give it. its really not that bad.

"Oooohh, all these legitimate complaints r stoooopid because I presented them in a whiny strawman way!"
You know, I don't think RE6 will be that bad (I say will be because I haven't played it yet, played 1, 4, and 5 though.)
The way I see the games are like this: Each game (Especially since 4) had less scare factors in it, and more action, leading up to 6, which has the most action and the least amount of horror because of the characters and their experiences.
It would kinda be like fighting zombies IRL: First few times are horrifying, scary even. Then you start getting used to it, and by the end, you're not afraid and are taking things out left, right, and center. (At least, that's how I see it)
Megaman 10 is fucking fantastic. I really recommend it.
Dead Rising 2 is great as well.
I liked RE6. I acknowledge it's not a true Resident Evil game, but I still had fun with it despite its flaws.
RE6 is a pretty fun game when you decide to CO-OP it

You can only have fun when you can't see shit!
Some people think Resident Evil is supposed to be a horror games, but I'm lead to suspect that the games are just carriers for a weird, Japanese style story.
It's a shame they put Dmc 4 there. Dmc was considerably better imo , It frustrates me that people decided to basically boycott the game because it swapped the original dante for someone who actually had character, It's frustrating because anyone who actually played it would see the new dante isn't as 2 dimensional as 2 gifs that were circulated imply , The story and the combat are pretty much what's to be expected of DMC.
Where's Legends 3, you BASTARDS
