• Blue screen after HD check

Hello, My computer has been running poorly recently and I've mostly assumed that it's because I've managed to burn one (out of two) RAM slots so I don't have enough RAM (2gb) But then I remembered it used to run fine with just 2gb of RAM and decided to assume that one slot took something else with it and I planed on getting a new motherboard (and CPU, and RAM :( ) But now I have a different suspect. My hard disc. I realized that none of the above problems should influence game loading time yet it loads very slowly. Furthermore, switching from the game, back to windows takes ages, but only the first time I do it so I assumed that it's because the games memory was put in RAM and the rest of the programs were put in a page file on the HD. Finally, I decided to do a disc check in Windows. Since it doesn't let me do it with PC running, it scheduled it for the next boot up. Decided to go to sleep and, so I don't waste time, just restart the PC and let it do it's thing through the night. Last thing I remember is it going through steps 1-3 pretty fast and then taking ages on step 4. In the morning, I wake up with a blue screen. I restart it and it tried to do the scan again, I let him start and again, a blue screen. When I cancel the scan it boots up normally. I assume the scan wouldn't do something like that but I did set it to "try and repair". So my question is, is there a log somewhere where I can see what's going on? Is there something else I can try? And finally, what are are best deals on new hard discs today? Thank you very much if you managed to push through this wall of text, if not, here's the gist: Did a Windows HD check with "try and fix" enabled through the night. Woke up with a blue screen.
what is the error on the bluescreen also I guess checkdisk deleted a critical system file (did this to me once) Check SMART data with the disk tool on a ubuntu live usb stick/disc
What does it say on the bluescreen?
