• 980 ti won't fit?!

Hey guys, I just got a Gigabyte 980 ti g1. My old card is the R9 290. When I try put the 980 ti in the same slot as my 290 used to be it won't fully insert the whole slot. It only goes in a bit on the right side of the slot, where the lock is (which isn't closed btw). It feels like it's being jammed on the left side which is weird because the 290 will just slide right in. So my card only goes in the slot on the right, but not fully! My case is the Define R4, and my mobo is an Asus P9X79 iX79 SATA 600. Hope someone can help me! http://imgur.com/tGRrMFi
Stupid question, but you've checked so there's no cable or something obstructing it, right?
Is the metal bracket able to slide cleanly between the case and the motherboard on the left side? It might be getting caught.
Would need to see good pictures of the side of the card where you're trying to put it in. Was recently installing a tri-fan 280x into a buddies case, the port side of the card had a backplate and would ever so slightly not fit. We just had to flex the port bay on the case a little bit, well bent it really, and it went in tightly. Check the clearance on it thoroughly.

Maybe the pcb is a bit thicker? It might just need a heftier push?
Tap it in gently with a hammer.
Have any of the monitor connections got caught on the case? Sometimes with graphics cards you need to push it towards the back of the case while plugging it on. Don't go mental but be firm.
Looks like the metal plate at the back isn't fitting into the case slot properly. You might check and make sure nothing is obstructing the case slot. http://kigen.co/pictures/case-slot.jpg
