Problem: If it at all matters, specs: [IMG_THUMB]http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/ae190/mokkan13/Specs.jpg[/IMG_THUMB] Basically, hopefully the picture explains it, but, Steam is stealing MSEs icon, It behaves fully like Steam, and if I right click the fake MSE icon it pops up the mini menu like Steam should.... Rebooting won't fix it, because it's done this on and off since I got Steam, as far as I can tell, there's nothing specific that makes the icon changes Anyone got a fix? or even just an explanation for what's causing the issue?
Huh, Cache or registry or something like that is broken.. Try CCleaner? Might work.
That's strange. I've had duplicate icons before, but one of them always disappears when I hover my mouse over it. I say CCleaner as well.

Try rebuilding icon cache Open CMD and taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local DEL IconCache.db /a Then restart.

Just as a sanity test, does steam have the right icon on the actual steam.exe?
Assuming you meant in here; C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Yeah, it does at the moment, I'll have a look next time I notice the icon error,
