Got a vacation coming up, and my family is driving to our destination, unfortunately, it's a two day trip, and I don't quite have much to entertain myself with besides my laptop since my phone gets no internet. Any recommendations for games that play well with just a keyboard and mousepad, such as dwarf fortress, while sitting in a car?
Diablo 2.
Super Deepthroat
Don't Starve
Tropico
Rollercoaster Tycoon
FTL: Faster Than Light
DoomRL(technically any Rogue-Like would fit the bill)
Doom/II/Heretic/Hexen/Hacx/Strife/etc + Source port and optionally some downloaded maps/mods
Command And Conquer/Red Alert
I know I've suggested mostly older games. I have no idea what your setup can handle.
risk of rain
dwarf fortress
liberal crime squad
simcity 4
maybe audiosurf if you have a lot of music loaded up
typing of the dead
tony hawk games don't use mouse, i think
civilization 4
cave story
recettear
touhou games
super meat boy
rogue legacy
worms revolution or reloaded
metal slug 3
most emulated snes, nes, and gameboy games work well
ricochet
Hacx using GZDoom

It's freeware and many of the levels are huge.
Daggerfall

Again, freeware and an Elder Scrolls game. Guaranteed to last you a while.
no matter what i bring with me on a road trip, i always just end up looking out the window
enjoy the sights man
Aurora
In terms of primarily mouse controlled slow pace stuff:
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Dungeons of Dredmor
The Sims
Simcity games
Evil Genius
Startopia
Tropico games
And a billion others I can't remember at the moment :v:

Works well for some of the trip, but some places, not quite, take nebraska for example. Quite a bit of it is just fields of corn, though there are still some sights worth seeing.
binding of isaac
Geneforge or Avernum if you want lite RPGs otherwise anything as suggested by the others, really.
Basically any GBA game on an emulator.
I'm doing the same in a moment, here's my list

Few of them are more intense for when I'm having downtime or whatever.
BattleBlock Theater, Game Dev Tycoon, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Plants vs. Zombies. Most 2D games that use only one of either mouse/trackpad or keyboard at a time would work I would say.
Take a hit at the games here http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/file/doom/#
Shovel Knight just came out and it's pretty fucking rad.
Legacy of Kain series
Desert Bus
The Binding of Isaac is probably a good time killer.
half-life, the original with all the DLCs is like 15 hours of gameplay

Half-life didn't have DLC's, it had expansions. You know, back in the time where you got another entire quality game for your money.
what type of laptop is it?
