I tried updating my iPod Touch 2G (MC model) to iOS 4.2 today. As iTunes put my iPod into recovery mode, it pooped out "An unknown error occurred: 1602". Now my iPod is stuck in recovery mode, and isn't being recognized my computer, or iTunes. When I plug the cable in, the device connected sound plays, but it doesn't show up. Help, and sorry if this is better suited to technical support, but I figured I'd get better help here.
Look up iRecovery. May help.
Got around it by jailbreaking
