and some 2235 books - totalling 480,000 words. That’s 32 hours of reading material right there, apparently.
Who gives a fuck?
Who gives a fuck?
I know a guy who took like 10 episodes of his stupid lets play to read a book in skyrim.
Who gives a fuck?
reading so dumb duuuh It adds flavor, anyone who likes little tidbits of info about a madeup world would be interested in reading these.
I completly agree that the time they used to write this was so much better than using it on the gameplay.
Because people who write text for an ingame book are also equally qualified to make gameplay decisions and otherwise influence game development.
While I'm all for you fleshing out your game world and what not, I do believe gameplay should receive priority. Too few games have the best of both worlds.
as if ESO has anything worth reading what with how they butchered the entirety of the lore lmao
Maybe it has the Act 1 of the Lusty Argonian Maid.
I see people being very critical of this game in most threads, is there something wrong with it? I mean I don't know a lot about it but it looks kinda cool.

The lore disregards every other Elder Scrolls game released thus far, and the subscription fees that they expect everyone is going to be okay with are fucking ridiculous ($60 to actually buy the game and then $15 every month to keep playing).
I see people being very critical of this game in most threads, is there something wrong with it? It's nice finding and reading books which a lot of them are very well written, just twenty minutes ago I was reading about a vampire who's most recent victim was a cultist, so they jumped him and recruited him into the cult under threat of being banished into a daedric realm. The game itself revolves around rewarding exploration and becoming immersed in the game and it does it well because I haven't looked at my xp bar once, and being lost in it has caused me to rack up 22 hours of game time and only be lvl 16. I recommend it, I can understand and to a certain extent agree/justify the flak it's receiving, but it's definitely worth trying for yourself before you decide.
A lot of the issues I had with the beta seem to be fixed in the game now (aside from the combat that sort of drags on, but it's also low level PvE and you don't get good equipment for a few levels.) The Alliance versus Alliance mode is really fun, being tactical is actually worthwhile especially since everyone can stealth in that mode. Being able to play in first person is great too, feels a lot more like and Elder Scrolls game. And the best part about the game is there's a ton of builds for each class - if you want to be a battlemage, pick a Sorcerer, grab a sword and shield and wear heavy armor, and you'll be a spellslinging hack and slasher. It's no secret that it's a bit of a generic MMO, but it's enough unlike a cookie cutter MMO and enough like an Elder Scrolls game to make it not completely terrible. My justification for the price is: I've spent money on more useless shit. :v: It still left a ding in the ol' wallet, though.
Eh from what I've played in the beta, it's not awful, it would be interesting to try if it was a F2P game, but it's not worth the price and sub. I'd say if you're willing to pay 60 bucks and a sub fee, you'd be better of with, say, Wildstar.
My other point to make is the negative response is primarily based on the BETA, and this being a heavily story related game your not going to pay much attention knowing that all of your effort is temporary, so people wouldn't have gotten so invested in what was happening. Playing the actual game is a different story, I'm seeing recurring characters that I really like (Razum-Dar for example, badass) and I get excited to go see them. Again though, just an opinion :)

I lost interest in it the SECOND they put that info out. I already play WoW pretty often when I can, I don't need ANOTHER game eating into my bank account $15/month on top of the $60 buy in.
There are, also, 61 million items in the game
Got a feeling 90% of those items are pure shit filler items you'll look at once and forget about it.

If there was current lore it wouldn't make sense.

Apparently, numerous events in TESO conflict with what has already been established by previous games. I still didn't buy it. Why? Because i'd have to conk out a massive subscription fee. I bought Dark Souls 2 instead and am very happy with my purchase.

honestly I really wouldn't care if this MMO had the best gameplay a MMO has ever had, the lore still just completely ruins it for me. I really hope this game is non-canon and is completely separated from the rest of the TES series

One of the reasons it was probably set so far in the past is so it wouldn't conflict with any of the other games
One of the reasons it was probably set so far in the past is so it wouldn't conflict with any of the other games
And somehow they failed at even that.
I completly agree that the time they used to write this was so much better than using it on the gameplay.
I'm sure the people who write the lore of the game are also the gameplay designers. Are you for real? Come on now.
