I recommend grabbing [url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/212480/]Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed[/url] with a buddy. It's a pretty solid game and I've had fun with family. I'm not even a big Sonic fan, man.
Plus it's got B.D. Joe in the best taxi of all time:

Sonic Generations is also pretty great.
Sonic Generations still has great mod support. You can get all the unleashed levels for free.

The dropped the ball though, this could have used a great sequel or even some DLC. This game was so close to perfection for 3D sonic.
Got Lost Worlds, its only just a sonic game but I really like it.
