Writing on the Bitdefender Blog, security expert Catalin Cosoi said there it could be a problem that Bouncer only scanned the Android market.
"There are several other websites from where Android users can install applications. In fact, most malicious applications we discovered were actually hosted on third-party markets and not directly on Google's (Android) Market," he said.
There is a fucking setting that you have to disable before the phone even allows you to install a non-market app. It will warn you about it being unsecure if you do disable it.
So, if you disable that and go to an unknown source and installs some app you have no clue who made. Then you can just blame yourself and it is nothing Google should or can do anything about.
If you don't have the common sense for this, then go get an iPhone instead so Apple can hold your hand when choosing apps. The same thing applies on a normal PC, when are people going to get that?
