I never thought i'd say this, but i want wwii shooters again. If you asked me in 2006 what i wanted the most fps wise, i would have said modern shooters because EVERYONE was always doing WWII settings. Now, in 2012, all i want is anything BUT a modern shooter. I actually miss the WWII settings.
What i still want the most is Vietnam, there's not NEARLY enough of those, or at least good ones.

Isn't there a Vietnam mod in development for Red Orchestra 2? Anyhow a Vietnam FPS would be nice.

Ohhh, that'd be cool. I mean, there is battlefield: Vietnam and Bc2v. I'm not counting Black Ops because that was NOT vietnam, that was some fictiony cold war bullshit with guns that were in such heavy prototypes at the time, they weren't even in working builds.

There's also Project Reality Vietnam in development for BF2 as well as a few other mods. But yeah, the Vietnam war is one that's barely been touched by the videogame industry

I almost don't want realistically themed shooters anymore at all. There's really nowhere to go nowadays, especially since Arma is covering one of the few excuses for why you would make a realistically themed shooter.

Arma's a pretty clunky game control wise and they try a tad too hard for realism. Also there are plenty of unrealistic shooters out there. You have the newer fallouts, rage, blink, borderlands, deus ex, tf2 and plenty others.

It's just a shame that those games aren't the big sellers like Call of D- you know what? Nevermind, I shudder to think of annual releases for the Deus Ex series.
Also, Rage is awesome as a shooter; superb even. I don't think that gets said enough.

I wonder if there's demand for quasi-realistic WWII shooters (think DOD, old COD and MOH) now the AAA developers have moved away from it? Working on a WWII Sourcemod myself, I'm intrigued.

Anyways I hope Single Player looks better texture wise.
I thoroughly enjoyed MOH2010's singleplayer. That was its only redeeming factor.
