t's never easy saying goodbye, and though we never play favorites, we can't help but be a little saddened by BFG's departure from the graphics card market. That's right folks, the company that pretty much kick started the concept of lifetime warranties for videocards will no longer be slapping together GPUs and PCBs.
Personally I am very sad bfg made some great cards.
Also thoughts.
:wth:
This is a sad day.

Anything more in depth than "not profitable"? The lifetime warranties catch up to them?

I'm guessing small margins due to tough competition from other AIBs.
BFG makes laptops?
Hopefully evga doesn't go out of business
BFG was doing such a great job, why would they want to leave the GPU scene :frown:
Probably because they replace broken cards with super cards.

If I damage my xfx 8600gt with lifetime warranty will they send me back a better card?
don't know, but that's an awful thing to do.

That was probably just a mistake
If I stick a rod of plastic in the fan of an 8600gt, when the card overheats can it damage other pc components?

No. Just no. That's horrible. Go away.
Go ahead and try, but good luck getting the warranty on a card that's intentionally damaged.
Overclock the 8600gt so it artifacts and use it all day at 20% fan speed. For the next week. It will slowly damage the ram and GPU itself.

That's fraud yo.

They can detect OCs, and they void the warranty.
Im very sad to hear this news, my card is in fact BFGtech and I love it.

Yes but all of there cards are pre overclocked and also just turn your fan speed way down they would not be able to tell that because that is purely software.

No, it's XFX not BFG. It's like saying if my Dell computer died will HP replace it?

I cant turn my fan speed less than 50% in Riva Tuner
(I tried it to get it silent, not replaced :v:)

Lame I've always bough BFG cards.
Oh well.
Anyone know how their PSU's are? I can get one for pretty cheap for my media center if so.
Their PSU's are great, top notch quality like OCZ's.
My first 8800GTX was from BFG when we built my dads computer. Sold that beast for $1,000 a long time ago.

I just got a 1000 watt PSU from them from Bestbuy on sale for $120, it kicks ass, very well made.
I got a 550 watt from them from best buy too, haven't really pushed it but you can tell it's just a good piece of hardware; Heavy, gives solid voltages. Would definately recommend them.
BFG makes PSUs/ PCs and Laptops?
Are the lifetime warranties still good?
