Installed this mobo. and this CPU. I'm using a GTX 260, and have an Antec 550W PSU. Basically, the lights on my motherboard and all the fans come on, but my monitor won't show that I have a computer hooked up to it. What cords are there that relate to this? I have the cord to the monitor, and my GPU is hooked up to my mobo, are their any other cords I could be missing? The GPU is also hooked up to my PSU. I'm thinking of just taking it to best buy and having the geek squad look at it :psyduck:
Tried resetting the CMOS? Are there any beeps when you power it on?
I'm thinking of just taking it to best buy and having the geek squad look at it :psyduck:
Don't do this.
There was no beep, but there wasn't one on my other mobo either. Just reset the CMOS, no luck.
Does your GPU have more than one port? Try the other one, maybe the port is busted.
Tried both.
Weird, my freind got a new PC and same thing happened. Turned out he needed to plug the monitor into the side of his graphics card...
Does your motherboard have an onboard graphics card? maybe video is displaying through that instead of your 260. If you do, plug your monitor into your onboard graphics card, change the setting in the bios that ignores the onboard one, and reconnect to the 260.
No onboard, and after taking it to the local comp guy, he plugged in a different graphics card and it still didnt work. He says the mobo isn't working, and after taking it out to send in, i was able to pop out my cpu when trying to take off the heatsink, could it have not been in all the way? Is it worth it hook up my mobo again to test?
I'd try again just to be sure.
Tried, still nothing. This makes me feel better, i'd be worried if I never tried again. RMA'ing it, and I reinstalled my old mobo, since i'm sure it will take at least a week to get a new one.
Good luck getting it sorted. I'm currently in the middle of an RMA for my graphics card, it's proving to be more difficult than usual though...
