• Graphics Card Upgrade <= $300

I'm looking to upgrade my current 4870 512 mb with something newer. My budget is less than $300. I've got a 500 watt power supply and currently have a AMD 955 Phenom II X4 @ 3.5 ghz, so my CPU should prevent bottlenecking. Any good deals out there?
best deal for $300 would be the 470 but imo it's not worth upgrading to you should save more money and wait for the 69** or the 570.
When will the 69** series be available?
i don't know exactly - i heard though that it's supposed to release before the end of the year also the GTX 570 can be a good upgrade candidate; it comes out Dec. 7th and the price will be ~$350-400
I'll need to get a new PSU too? Here's my current model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031
Well the 6870 uses 247 watts on full load, and that's a lower end card to the 69** series. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/10/22/ati-radeon-hd-6870-review/9 I don't know the specifics to the 69** power supply usage but I think it would be higher.
Oh god, That PSU doesent even put out near to 500 watts.
It has 70% efficiency, Which is shit.
Alright, so I think I will wait for the 570 or something, but I will need to take in account for a new PSU.
