Next best thing I can think of is sideloading
For the very few people installing this in the first place
Sod off microsoft, see, this is why having a store that is run by the same people that make the OS is bad, same happens in iOS, if Apple does not like what you do you are fucked.
Tbh so long as they don't do this shit on the OS I'm not that worried.
its sad to see the shit emulators get when they're doing it out of the devs not creating their own
if companies RELEASED 15+ year old games on these platforms they'd have a good argument. But they don't.

Nesbox is pretty swag though I will say

You make it seem like this is either a big deal or a problem, which it isn't. [Company] doesn't want to host [product] on their storefront and explicitly says so, that's not a big deal, what might actually matter is that this emulator isn't allowed while Microsoft is hosting multiple others on there instead.

The policy is no emulators,
If they're in there now, give them time

I think you're completely missing eirexe's point. Microsoft pretty clearly wants the Windows Store to be the primary place to get apps and programs for Windows 10. Meaning if they succeed (thankfully they won't because Microsoft's really good at fucking things up for stupid reasons) then you are literally screwed for trying to release a Windows-based emulator. Emulators are not illegal and so Microsoft really should not have any say in the matter.

No, because "primary" does not mean "sole." If you want to release an emulator, host it yourself.

Yes they should? It's their marketplace. If Microsoft has to allow them on their storefront, so should literally every other digital distribution platform, since by your logic they shouldn't be able to control what content they want to provide.
They're not legally obligated to allow everything as long as it's legal.

The problem is that there's no alternative way to sideload windows store applications without it being a pain in the ass, same goes for iOS, there's no comfortable way to release UWP applications outside the windows store.
It could just be that Microsoft doesn't want to have to deal with the hassle of takedown requests and legal issues with anyone with a copyright holding
Most emulators that get away with this ship without a BIOS, which a good person would have to dump themselves from a console they already own
Just a theory really

Then don't use UWP to make your programs that aren't compliant with their policies. Sure, it might be an issue if they just started taking shit down for no reason and your totally acceptable program got taken down, but that's not what's happening, so as it stands, it's not a problem.
i think its because to prevent emulators from being on xbox one
