Seems kinda obvious, the form factor indicates laptop parts and to achieve that form factor it's likely a single board. You're either gonna have a tiny box with limited upgrades or a bigger box with standard parts.

I really love the concept of the Steambox. A "console" for PC games, genius.
But the actual execution is way too expensive and disappointing.
This is gonna flop so hard.

A couple of the steam machines look pretty good, the cheaper $500 ones would be pretty difficult to build for the same price. Most of them are just stupid over priced crap though. For most of them it would be easier to pay someone to build a mini-ITX or micro-ATX PC, or just buy a console.

Their customer base will argue is better to buy from Alienware than to build a PC from scratch. Happened in NerdCubed's JC-MP server. Kid was like "lol Aleanwure is the best! It's cheaper than building a pc!" You can't even say "alienware" in that server because you'll get auto-kicked. =E
