• Need help with Windows 8.1 Hotkeys

Hello, I have an issue with my Toshiba laptop computer. Usually, Windows 8 laptops have hotkeys for changing volume and brightness. This has worked before, but recently I installed a new HDD and did a fresh install of Windows 8.1. However, the hotkeys for volume and brightness do not change such when pressed. Only when the FN key is held with one of the hotkeys it works. But I want to know how to make it so that the FN key does not need to held down for the hotkeys to work. Thank you in advance
Bump?
Holding FN seems like the normal way to do it? If it worked like you describe before, you need to install the hotkey driver from Toshiba. There may be a setting in there that allows you to toggle the FN requirement. Failing that, check the BIOS / UEFI for such a setting.
You usually need a driver for many FN keys as they are non-standard keys.
