What are some of the best language independent games out there? Games with a simple enough of an interface that anyone no matter what language he speaks can pick it up and play it...What comes in mind for me is LIMBO, probably Minecraft and Braid too. I'm trying to share some good games with people who don't know that much english, french, german or any other popular language.I've tried introducing them to some of the top 100 PC games but most of them are language dependant.
If you think this is a good ideea for a thread please share your knowledge, and I will try to make a list with the best language independent games out there. Searched the internet and it seems nobody pays much attention to this detail, but I do.

I'll have to contradict you here, theres games like splinter cell and hitman where you have to keep count of many things, mission info, clues and so on, in order to succeed in levels.
He said FPS, and neither of those are FPS games.

I think he was thinking along the lines of DooM/Wolfenstein/Duke Nukem
Dota2. I'm pretty sure English is a minority in Dota2.
Most retro games tend to be language independent, especially arcade games.
Castle Crashers
brazilians have an instinctual knack for mmos
McPixel, Intrusion 2, Beat Hazard, NightSky, Closure, The Polynomial, Audiosurf, EDGE, And Yet it Moves, Spelunky, Droplitz, Osmos, Shatter, Jamestown, Machinarium, Samorost 1/2, Tiny and Big, Trials.
That's what I could pull from my steam library. Some would need you to help them for the first few steps.

I have a few more as loose .exes scattered throughout my files:
Sumotori, Tricky Truck, Towerclimb, Crashtastic
EVE Online
Abe's Oddysee & Exodus are pretty language independent. It's HUDless so as long as you figure out what each gamespeak button does (which is simple english to begin with), you're pretty much set.
Most platformers should work. Super Meat Boy and Braid are good, they will miss the story in Braid but it isn't that important. Games like Contra or Metal Slug might be good too.
Proteus
Limbo
I Wanna Be The Guy? :v:
Killing Floor
RIP OP
Duke Nukem
