So I've seen many post of insects and animals post all over facepunch, and especially, imptastick. But, there's never a thread for animals, and I hope this one can last as long as Auxiliary pics thread. I'll start of with some animals I like. The Tibetan Mastiff, its like someone decided to mix a bear and a dog together. It looks so fucking cool and majestic. and cute! Eagles are fucking cool too. I've dreamt about having one perched on my shoulders and walking around. And bush vipers, fucking cool looking snakes. And since I didn't say you can't post dinosaurs, fuck you here's some dinosaurs Welcome to a time, where whatever swims in the ocean wants to fuck your life up really badly: Liopleurodon, fucking 20 feet long monster. Holy fuck. And I love this, Megalodon. A goddamn whale sized great white shark. So, post all your favourite animals pics!
[t]http://www.teara.govt.nz/files/di-7902-enz.jpg[/t] I fucking love anything to do with Squids or Ocotpi. They're fantastically mysterious creatures whom I've tried to keep track of research on, and when you serve 'em up they're a delicious meal!

Lets have birds. First let us have the avian equivalent of scandinavians. Perhaps the most misunderstood sea creature in the world. I love Great Whites, they inspired my love for sharks.

They are pretty damn awesome. I'm also wanting to get a new tank to have freshwater angelfish in sometime. (Can't have shrimp and angelfish in one tank though unless there's dickloads of vegetation, or they'll just see the shrimp as 5$ snacks.) Shelties are the coolest dogs I have ever had. They're smart, easy to train (my dogs were, not really sure if this is a perk of the breed though), and they're very loyal. They're also very cute, even when they grow out of the puppy stage. The only problem with them is that they shed super hard and coat everything with hair (even if you only have one dog). Mantis Shrimp, the Bruce Lees of the Seas
Ants are practically the farmers of the insect world. Instead of eating leaves, leaf-cutter ants cut them into smaller pieces so that they can carry them back home and grow fungus on top so they can eventually eat it. Some ants also form mutual relationships with aphids by protecting them from other creatures, whilst in exchange, the aphids allow the ants to "milk" them by stroking them with their antennae.
ants
Cephalotes ants make their nests in trees, and the soldiers, who have a flat head, use it to cover the nest's entrance. When the food supply is low, the whole nest of Dorylus ants leaves the anthill in search for a place where they have more food. While traveling, the soldier ants make "tunnels" by grabbing each other and holding themselves above ground so worker ants can pass bellow or between them. The soldier ants have extremelly powerful jaws, once they bite you might be able of removing the body but the head will still keep biting. During the jounrey, if they cross with an animal in their path, they will attack it. The soldier ants use their mandibles to open wounds in the skin and the worker ants bite in the wounds, where the flesh isn't as hard as the skin. They can kill chickens and if you are sleeping, just hope they don't decide to give you a visit. I watched too many documetaries as a child.

Irish wolfhounds. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6e/Irish_Wolfhound_Sam.jpg[/t] These dogs are so amazingly cool. They're the tallest dog breed, and despite their intimidating stature, they're very very peaceful, intelligent, lovey animals that form strong connections to their owners. From what I understand, compared to other dog breeds they're very individualistic and have a lot of their own, unique personality quirks. I used to have one and he was an absolutely amazing, lovable dog, and he completely eliminated any and all fear I have of larger dogs and forever made me love irish wolfhounds. Also he scared the shit out of a lot of pizza guys. That guy is 6'1, for reference.
