I share my 8MB bandwidth between four computers. When they are all being used, my ping increases drastically. Is there any way I can divide these 8MB equally between them, creating some sort of bandwidth limit for each computer?
I'm using a Thomson Speedtouch 5. It's wireless, but I have it connected via cables.

I think you could also do it by changing the firmware on your router if your current firmware doesn't support it (something like tomato: [url]http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Tomato_Firmware#Supported_devices[/url])

I have an identical router laying around, can I somehow use this so that atleast I will not be affected by the rest of the computers?

In that case I can not use it.
Your router might have a [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_of_service]QoS[/url] option.
I'd suggest looking there.
