Vacations.

It's the problem with releasing a game during alpha.
Big survival changes:
They still call it survival? I thought they killed that mode when they first rolled out the Adventure Update. Must feel nice to be able to crap out crap updates and get tons of praise for it.
I don't play this since forever, but i do remember the mod API was pretty much confirmed for 1.4 and we're now at 1.8 :v:
The most MAJOR parts of this update are...
3 Block retextures (The block textures are 16x16)
They toggled doors from non-stacking to stacking
One new block.
Isn't there a team of like 12 people working on these for millions of dollars?

Its funny because any competent modder could pump this shit out at least once a day
Even funnier because they do
Not to stick up for the lack of content, but only 2 people actually work on the content, the rest of the team recently rewrote/changed a lot of the rendering engine and a few people are still working on the plugin API. At the minute most of the work on the game is going in to fixing notch's coding, I think.
Vacations.
They can't take more vacation time, otherwise it would cut into their vacation time.
Minecraft? Never heard of it.
Every update that doesn't add furniture, or something to put into your base makes me more and more upset with what they're wasting their time with.
If Mojang ever tried to go public they would be bankrupt in a day because shareholders would have zero confidence in the team.
Mojang has gotten pretty lazy over the years.
push your glasses up your nose (no, not that way guys, jeez)
...I DON'T GET IT
I don't either, but every time I read that I actually push my glasses back up. It's kind of irritating.
Mojang has gotten even lazier over the years.
FTFY.
Mojang has gotten pretty lazy over the years.
It has always been like this.
Back when he did the "secret Friday updates", He would skip "secret friday updates" a week or 2,Then he would copy past a pig, upscale it 10% and add a new texture too it, and call it a cow.
(he would add the sound for it later, and it wouldn't drop meat or leather, it would drop a bucket with milk in it that couldn't be used for anything yet)
It would maybe take him 10 minutes to do that, and everybody would go around and be like "This is the most amazing update ever"
I'm fucking sick of this shit. I'm not normally one to complain about shoddy updates but what the fuck Mojang? They spend more fucking money on their stupid MINECON bullshit than they do in adding content to their biggest money-maker.
They really need to do something to rejuvenate the game, as of right now I haven't even considered playing Minecraft in a long, long time.
Why add content to your own game when the wtfhueg modding community does it for you?

If I were Mojang I'd avoid letting a community of severe sociopaths make my games "better". Most of the Minecraft modding community are terrifying "humans" who can't help but fight over the dumbest shit ever, purposefully breaking each others shit just so they get their moment of fame when their mod is the only thing working.

All the big Minecraft mods always seem to add every single thing imaginable without putting much thought into things like player progression or balance and they just end up as a cluttered mess.
Is Mojang hiring? I would love to do fuck-all for a living.
I'd hate to break your circle jerk, but they added whole lot more than ya'll are letting onto. 7 new blocks while revamping villagers, enchanting and repair systems, they've also been refactoring the original code. (Source) I generally view Facepunch in higher regards than Reddit, but yall are so whiney. We bought a complete game now, and they CHOOSE to give us more content. We aren't paying for a subscription or anything, we bought a game for $20-30 USD, and have enjoyed hundreds of hours of great gameplay. What more could we ask for?

I've bought a game during beta and I'm still waiting for the finished product.

Guys, guys. It took them a month to add 7 blocks when coding them is just copy-paste and their textures are just 16 by 16. Clearly they are the best developers ever.
I just looked at the Minecraft wiki, and holy shit, it looks like I missed a big biome update. Last time I played was 1.5, I think.
Adding 3 new rocks is a nice touch for exploring (or I suppose it will be, I hope), but it's not anything huge or impressive. The Minecraft team seems pretty aimless, too.
Yeah, they're totally aimless with the content they introduce. That's my biggest qualm with the current developers. I think the most recent update their trying to bring back balance by making enchanting and repairing more reasonable. i like to play up to date servers, and a whitelisted beta 1.7.3 server since I felt the game was much more balanced then. :/
