The sad part about this patch is that when they brought on a simultaneously fix to clear up previous issues, they inadvertently created more problems. People right now are reporting a lot of performance hits. Even I noticed a hit in some areas, but some people are reporting stuff as low as 14 frames and below, even on the main menu. Seems like a bunch of people won't even get to enjoy the new content.
The survivors look better in this game than they do in L4D2
Just goes to show how old and outdated Source is.

It's very fun and they fit really well, surprisingly. Soundtrack, the voices & the special infected are awesome too.

No shit. A game released a year ago is going to be outdated compared to whats coming out now.
The farther back you go, the bigger the gap is.
Source still has it's own merits but even the people who are still madly in love with it and defend it know that it's no end-all-be-all engine.

If you knew anything about the lineage of the engines these games run on, You'd realize how little that matters.

i wish we could just ditch source along with unreal and move onto new engines
i'm getting sick of the way games on those engines play.

It matters because the older the engine, the less capable it is. Source is capable in its own right, but against engines like UE3 and MT Framework it fails.

do you just find threads to specifically make yourself look stupid in? The engine doesn't really matter when it comes to "how games play" on them. It's entirely up to the developers.

It doesn't run on 10 years old hardware. Valve upgraded their engine over the years.
Back in 2003, the engine wasn't able to do
Global Lightning
Dynamic shadows
Cinematic physics
Soft particles
Motion blur
HDR
to name some of them. At least Valve is working now on new engine since 2011.

Are you fucking serious?
Are you fucking serious?
Judging by what he usually posts, he probably wants everything to run on either Frostbite or Glassbox, and EA to control all developers.

Because gameplay is totally not dependant entirely on the developer.
Is there any Gameplay of the L4D2 gang yet? I'm curious to see all their moves / their own unique HUD (Since everyone else have their own styles, like below)
Leon's Hud on the left, Chris's on the right.

You might be surprised to read that there isn't really anything unique about them. They have no unique custom weapons, or loadouts that really set them apart from other characters very much. They're basically just copies of other characters with different voices and appearances, and a bit of Left 4 Dead music overlaying the regular theme.
Their melee movesets are essentially borrowed from other Resident Evil 6 characters. With Rochelle using Sherry's , Ellis using Piers', Coach using Chris', and I believe Nick uses Leon's. The same goes for the custom enemies. The mini-tank is basically just a stronger Napad without armour, and the Witch is essentially just a customized Bloodshot.
Don't get me wrong though, it's still fairly entertaining. And it was free, so that's neat.
CS:GO is actually a very good looking game for what it is so i don't think Source is the problem, more like L4D just isn't that visually appealing
