Gold membership: worth it? - General

I'm debating whether or not to spend a bit of my christmas money on a gold membership.

The search function is like the only good thing about it

I would say no. I'm glad I got mine for free the last time such things were possible. All I ever use it for is the occasional search and to laugh at the idiots spamming the refugee camp.

new golds are not required to make a "hi I'm a new gold" thread in gmf but it is strongly encouraged those who don't usually end up as outcasts unless you have a good reputation beforehand. and let's be honest, I ain't ever heard of you. but yeah it's p worth it. gmf is friendly and unrestricted discussion (just be sure to make that introduction thread firsthand!)

I'd probably do it anyways because this forum is more or less my social life and supporting it would make me feel happy.
