I plug it in, and nothing happens. I can still plug it into the wall outlet through the USB, and it'll start charging, but it doesn't respond when I plug it into my PC. Doesn't charge, doesn't open in iTunes. Nothing.

Happens to me sometimes as well. What you do is you suddenly interrupt your PC by shutting it off (Not safely like ripping the ac out of the wall) then loading it in safe mode. After safemod is started and you get into windows, restart your computer and it will go back into normal windows. Plug your apple device and see if it fixes
This fixed the problem with my computer not reading USB's.
Uh. Well, it's a laptop so I'd have to wait g hours for the battery to run out.
And the USBs still work, I'm using my mouse and tablet perfectly, it's just the Apple cable not working. Anything else I plug in will work.
actually, i take that back.
Now my cursor stopped working...
