So, long story short with any "new" game my GPU gets stupidly hot ( i.e playing wolfenstein 2, call of duty WWII, Divinity Original Sin 2 etc )
I got vsync enabled and the game frame rate capped to 60, as well setting the fan speed to 80% using EVGA Precision X and it still easly reaches temperatures of up to 75C, Hovers arround 72C under load
I temporarly have my case open since my new CPU Fan is too big and it wont even fit closed, so airflow isnt really a concern? im just worried about the temperatures and the GPU Fans wearing out from having to constantly run at such a high load ( plus they sound like freaking jet engines )
I Also alredy took the card apart and re-applied thermal paste so idk what else i can do to lower the temps
72C for a GPU is nothing out of the ordinary. What is your ambient temperature like?
I bought the same GPU in January 2015 and it's been running at temps up to 80C ever since just fine, this is normal for that model, or any GPU really.
I try to keep mine under 80 using a custom fan speed curve just for extra safety but 75C is nothing to worry about.
Oh alright then that certainly gives me peace , i err..dont really have any way of checking my ambient temperature :v: but my GPU rests at 37C While idle and the fans completely off ... Is there anything i could do to keep it cold? becouse the main issue is that the fans on this card are VERY noisy. they completely drown the sound from my speakers at > 60% Speed..
