this is the thing that broke the camel back for me I won't be buying this game or at least not new
That's no excuse to not have a server browser.
Or they could add a team scramble function. You know, since the servers are dedicated and people will leave after a while, forming a curbstomp on one side that will persist round after round.
It is brought up every game DICE makes, and they never listen. It wasn't in the alpha, and there seems to be no evidence that it will be in gold. For $80 CDN, this is a big deal.
I'm not going to buy this game (at all) unless the beta is Really Fucking Awesome
Lack of server list (almost) completely killed my hype...
just wait for like 2016/17 goty for like half price,.
I remember reading that dedicated servers are still a thing.. Doesn't that mean that we can still create a private server to have friends join? I remember someone saying that they could still join their friends directly.
For what reason would they spend the resources on hosting the servers when they could just let players do it themselves?
Remember when we had browser related server browsers? Like MPlayer and Gamespy? Then we finally started getting in-game server browsers which were convenient and better by miles. Then EA was like Nah, let's go back to the browser based system. Now after 3 games with people going this sucks they're like Okay we'll fix it. BY REMOVING ALL CHOICE ALTOGETHER.
How is this going to keep everything fair and balanced? Making sure everyone has a high ping? Making sure NO ONE can play when your ass is having connection issues? I want to be put into a game of my choice, a 24/7 of a single map if I so choose, with the same group of people I've become accustomed to playing with on the same server. Not a I'M FEELING LUCKY button

The Alpha was fucking awesome. The beta probably will be as well.

Only a few days left until we know.
Is the upcoming beta open?

Yeah
Unless the whole Star Wars thing or ultra-shiny gfx is the main selling point of Battlefront for you, just get Angels Fall First (https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1487947) instead for a fraction of the price. It has space battles (In which you can helm capital ships), it has ship boarding, it has driveable vehicles that aren't on rails, oh and it has a server browser. It's closer to a true Battlefront 3 than whatever DICEA will put out
Not only that, Angels Fall First has actually been around for close to a fucking decade and as a mod in multiple games, it ain't some out of no where project
I see people complaining so much about the lack of a server browser but praise counter strike as the best shooter ever.
You know that 90% of the playerbase uses matchmaking in CSGO, right?
yeah honestly if they want to keep competitive balance than all power to em, to the people praising AFF yeah sure it's a cool game and all but at the end of the day i'm choosing between a AAA title or basically Eternal Silence amped up to an 11. They're two totally different games and I'm not even gonna dignify the comparison between them because honestly it's the rose tint getting turned up to a maximum. From what I've seen and played of BF, p. cool game and ill probably buy it once i get a good enough rig for it. if you're looking for a star wars game, its got what you're looking for, and while AFF may have some battlefront in its blood, it ain't star wars.

Except CS:GO has both. I can still open up the server browser and play whatever I feel like.

The fact that "It's Star Wars" shouldn't excuse the £50 price tag for a game with less coherent content and features delivered by one asking for £10
Like if AFF was exactly the same but set in the Star Wars universe, it'd be a no-brainer as to which is the better choice.

The differences in production values of the two titles is enormous. Sure graphics ain't all, and I agree with you, but if you want high production values you have to pay more. It's in the name, higher production values mean the game cost more to develop, which means they need to make more off the sales.
