Just a quick question, I need to get some cash out from my bank (£650 to be exact, bank is nationwide) Could I just go in there and ask for it? I heard you can't take out more than £300 or so in cash at once, otherwise you have to get a cheque. Can anyone shed some light on the situation?
what kind of account is it? if its a savings account the answer is no, not just like that.
As much as you can fit in your wallet without the teller hitting the alarm.
you can't take any more than £200 out of the cash machines, but if you actually go in the bank you can withdraw all your cash if you wanted
Ask your bank, different banks have different withdrawal amounts...
If everyone takes out 10% of what's in their account, the bank will need an overnight emergency loan from the central bank because banks only keep a tiny percentage of your money "in stock". The rest is loaned out to other customers such that they only have about 10% or less.
When I had to get £1,200 out, I had to go into the bank. You might have to sign some forms and stuff.
Yeah, what Tob said, basically the bank wants to make sure its you taking the large amount out, not some scammer taking all of it out at once.
Every bank have different limits for different types of account
