I've been looking around at smartphones and decided a nice price range would be around £250~ and came to the conclusion on a LG Optimus 2x due to it's features and ideal HDMI output which would be perfect for displaying on my TV

But the question is, is it worth waiting over the Christmas period for a better deals or is nothing much going to happen? I haven't been keeping up with smartphones as much as i'd like so I ask, should I go ahead and get the LG or should I try my patience? Any help is appreciated since I consider a fairly expensive purchase like this something I should atleast think twice about.
I've heard rumors that the LG Optimus has a battery lifespand of 10 minutes, and that the 3D version's even worse.
I'd never wait for a price to become lower, as by the time you've waited, the money saved could've been earned in while enjoying the product, making little to no differense in the long run.

I was more thinking about if there was to be deals over the Christmas period which would be worth waiting for on other phones, but if what you say about the battery life is true then i guess i'll be looking for another phone anyway

I have it, and it's nothing less than amazing.
Great screen, amazing camera, never lagged for me ( make sure you charge it 100 % first time ), perfect size for messaging and watching movies, and it looks really good.

Battery lifetime is 1-2 days depending on what you do, BTW.

I have an optimus and its actually eleven minutes, thank you.
Jk, its an amazing battery and it lasts all day. Simplest Android phone I've ever seen.
LG makes some good shit. Sure there are better Android phones out there but you're fine with the Optimus.
