Hi, i just got cs1.6 (i have hl1) and when i ever i start it up, it goes black then crashes, no error messages. My GPU is Radeon 5850 (x2 crossfire)
I also have win7
CS:S works fine..
Is there any reason to play 1.6 when you have CSS?
I know this is a bit sideways but still..
and have you tried reinstalling?
run as admin and in xp compatibilty mode.
is it a legal copy?

Nvm guys, got it working, updated my graphics, and yes its legal
I've had this problem, I think it was a problem with OpenGL.

Well, it feels better to play 1.6 with friends at lan for me

1. 1.6 is harder.
2. 1.6 brings extreme nostalgia
3. CSDM is more fun here
4. The people you meet in 1.6 servers are more fun to chat with
5. In 1.6 no one uses microphone, so there are no screaming 12 year olds
CSS ruined Counter-Strike for me. Been playing this game since 1.4..
Oh, I forgot, it does feel better to play 1.6 with friends at lan.
