• I need help, upgrading my PC.

I'd rather not 'buy a new computer', but upgrade it... and I need YOUR help! First, lets get the information. I have a 250 watt PSU, and a 494 GB Hard-drive. The rest should be included below. If not, just ask. I don't want a new monitor-- I don't want a new mouse-- and I don't want a new case or keyboard. The only thing I want to do, is let my computer play games on full settings. Games like L4D2, Dragon Age Origins, or even Crysis. Unfortunately, I don't even know where to start. I don't really have a budget-- anything really works. I mean, as long as it doesn't mean building a completely new PC. :/ I have no items to re-use from other spare computers. Well... I do, I guess, but they're worse then this computer.
grab a 4670 and you are set [editline]03:37AM[/editline] oh and an antec 350w basiq
So, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161287 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371003? (which is deactivated at the moment. I'd prefer to buy both off of Newegg, any other alternatives?) I just want to confirm, bro. Thanks!
yes or this psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171046
yes or this psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171046
Wow. This is way cheaper then I thought it'd be! Thank you! Very, very much!
grab a 4670 and you are set [editline]03:37AM[/editline] oh and an antec 350w basiq
Isn't 350w a little low?
Nope not for a 4670. Also: Silversoda, just letting you know now that the 4670 won't max l4d or Crysis, or pretty much any recent games for that matter. But it's the best you can do for this HP, and it will play recent games.

You should start saving for a new PC to! But the 4670 should do just fine.

It can also max out Crysis, but you'll only get 10-16 FPS at 1280 x 800. Max of 10 FPS at 1920 x 1200.
Disagree. A 4670 would be able to max anything in the Orange Box. It can also max out Crysis, but you'll only get 10-16 FPS at 1280 x 800. Max of 10 FPS at 1920 x 1200.
No. a 4670 can max anything from valve.
No. a 4670 can max anything from valve.
I never said it couldn't.
I never said it couldn't.
i just said everything because you said from the orange box. l4d2 isn't in the orange box, and a 4670 can max that too.
i just said everything because you said from the orange box. l4d2 isn't in the orange box, and a 4670 can max that too.
Well why'd you say no?
Isn't 350w a little low?
it is an antec it will be fine
It'll max l4d.
l4d2* It can't max that with reasonable fps.
It can also max out Crysis, but you'll only get 10-16 FPS at 1280 x 800. Max of 10 FPS at 1920 x 1200.
Well that's just silly. A 8400GS can max out Crysis, but will it be playable? That's all that matters, although standards of what is playable vary from person to person. Personally I can't stand anything under 30 FPS.

My 3100 can come very close to maxing in 1280 x 800 with FPS ranging from 20-30.
l4d2* It can't max that with reasonable fps.
It probably can, it maxed L4D pretty well and there's not much of a graphical difference between L4D and L4D2.
I have 2x 4670, but crossfire isn't supported in l4d2 so its only using one. I get about 40 - 50fps maxed l4d2.
hmm ok well my brother's 4830 doesn't do too well so that's what I was going off.
For future reference, don't go off what your brother has. Research it and look up some benchmarks.
