My cousin is planning on purchasing one of the following netbooks. I made a pick for him, which I won't say which is, but he keeps on saying that I don't know what I'm talking about. So I turned to the experts (you) to give me your opinion to which is the best netbook.
Please include a reason to why you picked the one that you picked.
I won't tell you my pick so I wouldn't influence your pick.

Thanks.
Get the ASUS for better battery life, or get the Toshiba for a better build quality and a better keyboard/trackpad.

I think the NC10 is better than the N120 imo.
i like that 1005ha a lot. i'd go for that.
mostly because they are the better buy overall.
Test the keyboard, it's important.
I tried, all were utter shit apart from Acer Aspire One that I bought.
The 1005 easily
I ordered a 1005HA recently for school, I hope I made a good choice. First netbook I've ever owned so I'll see how I like it.
I picked it because it was the best value for price and there are a lot of good reviews of it. Also the 10 hours of battery life is very important to me.
The N120 for me
I got a MSI Wind U100 and it's cool.
I have it OC'd to 1.98 GHz and I can play CSS on it on very low settings on GG maps.
I'm very happy with it considering I paid $328 CAD for it.
I was also wondering about this, so many companies make netbooks these days it's a tough choice!
Anything that comes with Linux. :buddy:
But to answer the question, I really like my Eee 900. It has an older Celeron, but I'm sure an Atom model would be much nicer.

Thats one thing I don't like about my Eee. The right shift key is to the right of the up arrow, so it's incredibly easy to hit the up arrow instead of shift, and it screws up whatever you were typing.
Asus with Linux is your friend.

Isn't celeron a bit faster? (But sucks down the battery like a 5£ hooker)
And it's not the size really, all keyboards are small with netbooks. At least the 9 inchers and under.
But it's rather the flexibility of the keys. My AAO is stiff. Doesn't bend, keys are stiffy (in the good way) and are not stupidly soft like some rubber keys from a 80's Spectrum.
Also I installed XP right away after getting this netbook. Well, I installed another linux, but the hassle, HW being uncompatible/bubblegum fixes, gahh.
XP with tweaks is very nice to use.

I think a Celeron is slightly slower than an Atom, but not by a whole lot. Sort of depends on the benchmark. If I had an Atom CPU, I could run Moblin on my Eee which is supposed to be really fast. The Celerons don't have SSE3, which Moblin needs.
The keys are nice on my Eee, but it's just the layout of the right shift key that bothered me.

+ 1gb of ram from Play.com (£10.99)
+ 30gb 1.8" Zif Ipod HDD from ebay (£25.00)
and the connecting zif cable (£2.99)
Works out to be a great netbook. Can play GTA 3 maxed out, and can also play vice city lol
Come on guys, this isn't going to be used for gaming.

BTW, the back is textured. Just FYI.
It has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1 GB DDR2 RAM (Upgradable to 2), 160GB HDD and 54G wifi (802.11b/g).
It also features bluetooth and SD card slot.

Sony claims that it's not a netbook. I guess thats just an excuse to charge $1000 for it.
