I was transferring files from my dads old shitty external to his new one and I had to stop the transfer because he needed his new external for work. Somehow a giant folder of all of his magic stuff went missing (he used to be a professional magician, still does it for fun blah blah) so he had decades worth of stuff he scanned in and videos he found online and so on. What I've done so far was run Recuva on the drive and it found stuff but its quite messy and kind of hard to figure out whats what in there. Is there any other like professional grade program? Maybe one that would keep directorys intact? I have all the time in the world as I have a second pc of mine doing this, so if theres something out there that may take days I'm ok with it. I could really use some help here as alot of the stuff in there meant a ton to the old man
Years ago when I was still using my PSP daily there was a chance it would format the memory card which always made me lose my saves so I used EaseUS data recovery tools to get that stuff back, usually with the folders and everything which was impressive. I can't recommend it more than anything else I've tried

Holy shit man that worked perfectly. Found way more then Recuva did.
now get him google drive or something and back that stuff up
Alright I've got another question. It got the files back themselves but alot won't open. What gives me hope is they're all the size they should be. I know I've seen software for videos that can like "reconstruct" them or something but how about pictures?

He's paranoid as shit about using anything thats cloud based. I'd have him make redundent backups but he'd lose track of whats what after a week
