Having sat through many-a-tidi in Eve, it's by far the most amazing experience for the first 15 minutes due to the marvel of thousands of players in local (the same solar system/public chat) and the hilarity of FCs (fleet commanders) trying to give orders.
And then for the next 3, 6, 12 hours it's nothing but regret and the urge to log off.

The problem isn't really tidi itself, it's kinda impossible to avoid when you have 6000 players worth of calculations to handle in one single system. The real problem is it getting so bad that modules break and stop working, and losing the ability to do even the most basic things that should be simple to do.

Citadels on the other hand are clearly in a bad place. Besides the fact that the bigger ones are pretty much un-engagable at close range by capitals (which is why you see carriers and supercarriers safely 1000km away letting their fighters do all the work) the whole 15min repair timer that counts down in real time making the margin for error in tidi being basically nothing is pretty retarded, I think anyone can agree with that. Remove damage cap, nerf their ability to just nuke caps with normal guns like it's nothing, and get rid of that shitty repair timer.
Seriously, dreads are designed that attack other capitals and structures and can't even be used in these fights because almost every citadel will kill them easily and quickly.
