Looks alright. Hopefully it's more like 1-4 than the other ones. I've seen 5 and 9 and they're not pretty.
It looks fun but no mention of online play is a real downer.

Because Mario Party on the Wii U was absolute shit with its combined movement system.
The best part's gotta be the fact that it has download play, so I don't have to buy 3 additional copies of the game to play with my friends. Oh yeah, and a return to the more classic style of boards.

Mario Party 9 is absolutely garbage, even among the mediocre newer ones.

Kid Icarus's online tended to be laggy at its best for me, I'd imagine that a ping above 100 would kill a lot of the minigames, and Nintendo isn't great at the whole online thing.

Not saying that justifies not having it at all, they should at least try.

Nice to see something from Mario Party DS coming back.
Local only play is something I'd only expect from a system with no internet at all, like the N64.
C'mon guys, this is a wireless internet-enabled device!
No online play? That sucks. I love MP, but no one near me/no one I know has a 3DS, and those games are always really fun if you play with friends. They're kinda meh if you're on your own imo.
Mario Party 2 is the best. I gotta get a 3DS already.

The 3DS has become a powerhouse over the years. You'd be doing yourself a service really.

But part of Mario Party is swearing and screaming at friends during mini-games and online just doesn't have that.

It is true. Mario Party is the game that turns friends into enemies.

to be honest the idea of mario party on a portable never really appealed to me.
Doesn't really feel like a "party" when everyone is hunched over staring at their 3DS, instead of everyone by the TV

I remember my brothers and I spending every friday night over at a friend playing Mario Party 4 (I think), Mario Kart Double Dash and Super Smash Bros Melee.
How we are still able to be in the same room is beyond me.
