the area the video should be playing is black. i have the most updated version of flash and i'm wondering if this is happening to anyone else.
Yeah it's happening to me on google chrome. I can only have 1 youtube tab open at once.

Since when? I can play as many YouTube tabs at once as I want and I use Google Chrome.

The same thing was happening to me. I just cleared all of my cache and such. The only downside is that I (and you will) lost all of my logins, and had to log back into all of the sites I use.
Though I have heard that if you go to YouTube using https (as in typing [b][url]https://www.youtube.com[/url][/b] into the URL bar) that it will work, though I have not tested this myself.

More than likely a problem with your Flash Player.

Definitely wasn't the flash player. Youtube was the one having the problem because multiple users on chrome or firefox had the same issue, it's fixed now apparently.
Update Adobe, that fixed it for me. Then again this could just be a circumstantial coincidence since they say its fixed.
