• Masking and effects in Sony Vegas problem

Okay... I've been making some videos with a friend, but I've got a problem. In all the 3 uploaded videos I've used masking to make the same person(s) in the same clip, but when I add any video effects on both clips I'm using to do it, there comes a stripe on the edges on the above clip. I've tried feathering them, and it makes it less easy to see, but you can still see it, which annoys me. I suck at explainig stuff so this is probably hard to understand. If anyone needs it, I can make screenshots. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LfoNLx6-H4 At around 0:13 you can see line in the middle when my friend run againt himself. As you also can see, I've tried to feather it away. Can anyone (who understand what I mean) please help me. If screenshots really are needed, I'll make some tomorrow.
Well, the only thing I can think of is perhaps effect order?

I've tried After effects and it doesn't have some of the features I use and switching between Sony Vegas and AE all the time would be a bit wasted time if there actually is a way to fix it in Sony Vegas. the effects I'm talking about is the look of it. I add more contrast, darker and more blue on some, brighter and red on others. I don't know if After effects actually have Newblue (I can just search on google), but if it have, I can give it a try. I'm pretty sure AE have contrast and brightness, so don't need to search for that.
